Satocha’s journey began decades ago with a single man and a dream. in the 1960's our grandfather, a young Vietnamese worker on the largest tea producing region in Shizuoka Japan, learned the art of cultivating and crafting matcha at its very source. He absorbed not only the meticulous techniques of shading, handpicking, and stone-grinding tea leaves, but also the philosophy of patience and respect that defines Japanese tea culture.

But he carried with him a far bigger dream: to bring this expertise home. Returning to Vietnam, he envisioned fields where Japanese knowledge could meet the rich, fertile soil of Mộc Châu. With determination, he planted authentic Japanese cultivars, established strict Japanese farming methods, and built a plantation rooted in precision, sustainability, and craft. What began as a humble plot grew into a family legacy—proof that tradition can transcend borders.

Generations later, that legacy became our foundation. Inspired by his vision and driven by our own, set out to reimagine what matcha could mean for today’s world. We saw beyond ceremony and ritual. We believed matcha could energize, inspire, and connect with a new generation of creators, dreamers, and doers.
